Mike Scoggins, BP America – Environmental Reporting Requirements
Dan Shea, Shea Physical Therapy, – Ergonomics in the Workplace
- Evaluate your workplace to determine what tasks are performed in a manner that might result in muscle strain. Look at items such as awkward positions, reaching over head, bending down, and lifting. Modify the tasks where possible such as placing the work at a comfortable height and position. An example of this would be an employee having to turn a valve handle that is a knee height or over head. Determine if the valve handle can be relocated to eliminate the awkward body positions.
- Have employees properly stretch and warm-up before beginning work or performing any strenuous activity.
- For additional information please contact Dan Shea at Shea Physical Therapy 5540 Everhart. Corpus Christi, Texas 78411 or 361-994-5224.
